The TEND Technique
The Baby Arrived. So Did the Pattern You Were Afraid Of.
Evidence-Based Relationship Equity Coaching for New & Expecting Parents
He’s a good dad. You mean that. And you’re still doing everything. The TEND Technique helps new and expecting parents stop the pattern before it calcifies — without years of therapy that never touches the root, without a communication framework that circles the same arguments, and without accepting “this is just how parenthood works” as an answer.
The Pattern Starts Before You Notice It
70% of couples experience a significant drop in relationship satisfaction after becoming parents. One person becomes the default parent, the default house manager, the one holding the entire architecture of the family inside her head — while still maintaining a career, a sense of self, and a relationship that is quietly corroding.
It’s not that your partner doesn’t care. It’s that the conditioning runs deeper than good intentions can reach. You’ve tried to fix it — the conversations, the books, the card systems, the task lists. They work for a few weeks. Then the default reasserts itself. Because none of those approaches touch the root: the unconscious conditioning that determines who sees what work as theirs in the first place.
You can’t communicate your way out of unconscious bias. But you can dismantle the root of it — and build something that actually holds.
Imagine a partnership where...
- The mental load is genuinely shared — not because you asked, but because he sees it too
- Both of your careers have room to grow, because neither of you became the default parent by default
- The systems running your household belong to both of you equally — and neither of you has to manage them
- You're connected as partners, not just co-managers of a very demanding small person
- Your kids are growing up watching what equal actually looks like
This isn’t a fantasy. It’s what this work builds.

The TEND Technique
A coaching program for new and expecting parents who want to build a genuinely equal partnership — not just divide tasks, but address the root of why one person ends up carrying everything.
Built on the Root + System + Ritual framework, The TEND Technique helps you see what’s actually driving the imbalance, build structures that hold under the pressure of real family life, and create practices that keep you connected through it all. This is the work that makes everything else finally stick.

ROOT — See What's Actually Driving the Imbalance
You can't change what you can't see.
Before we build anything, we make the invisible visible — for both of you. We uncover the unconscious beliefs, inherited patterns, and gendered conditioning that parenthood activates in even the most progressive partnerships. The beliefs that told him domestic labor and emotional management aren't his job. The beliefs that told her they are. Neither of you chose these. Both of you are living inside them.
This is the phase every other program skips. It's also the reason every other program eventually stops working.
SYSTEM — Build Frameworks That Hold Under Real Pressure
Good intentions aren't enough when you're sleep-deprived, overwhelmed, and navigating the biggest transition of your lives together.
We build actual systems for sharing the mental load, distributing cognitive labor equitably, and sustaining balance under the conditions of your actual family life — not the idealized version. Both partners hold full competency and full ownership. Not a better task list for her to manage. A shared architecture neither of you has to run alone.
RITUAL — Stay Connected While Building a Family
Systems keep things equal. Rituals keep you together.
We design meaningful, embodied practices that carry your partnership's values into daily life — small, sustainable touchstones that make equal partnership the new default. Without ritual, everyone reverts. With it, the work stops being something you maintain and starts being simply how you live.
Who This Is For
The TEND Technique is for parents who are good and want to be exceptional — not couples in crisis.
This is the right fit if:
- You're expecting and want to build equal systems before the baby arrives and the defaults set in
- You're already a parent and can feel the invisible labor landing on one person
- You've tried the books, the apps, the card systems, and the conversations — and you're ready for something that addresses why none of it held
- You want someone who will name exactly what's happening and give you a framework to change it permanently
- You're not willing to accept "this is just how parenthood works" as an answer
This is NOT the right fit if:
- You're in active crisis or considering separation — couples therapy is the right starting point, and I'll tell you so honestly
- Only one of you is willing to examine your own conditioning — this work requires both partners, not just the one who noticed the problem
Ready to Stop the Pattern?
You’ve seen it forming. You know something needs to change. And you’re catching it at exactly the right moment — not before it started, but before it becomes the story of your marriage.
Let’s talk about where you are, what you’re navigating, and whether this is the right fit.
